Universidad Autónoma de Madrid
The
Autonomous University of Madrid has approximately 28,000 students and is one of
the main universities in the capital city. The University has two campus; the
prestigious Faculty of Medicine, situated close to Madrid´s La Paz Hospital,
and the Cantoblanco Campus, which is situated 15 km to the north of Madrid,
near Alcobendas, San Sebastián de los Reyes, Tres Cantos and Colmenar Viejo.
The
university is organized into seven schools, which include: Arts and Philosophy,
Teacher Training and Education, Economics and Business Studies, Sciences, Law,
Psychology and Medicine, and the Polytechnic, as well as several services
buildings; a sports complex; Music and Languages; University Residences and a
Postgraduate Centre. The campus has an excellent connections with the city
center, including a train station, the direct line to Puerta del Sol. All of
which makes the Autonomous University of Madrid an ideal place for foreign
students to experience life in one of Europe's most vibrant cities.
The
UAM offers an extensive range of studies which attracts students and can be
homologated within the European Union area. There is a Tutorial Action Plan
under which students are guided and supported by a personal tutor during their
course of study.
